Yixing teapots

YiXing teapots are made with clay, a unique type of clay found in the JiangSu province of China. The name in Chinese is called "ZiSha", which directly translates to purple sand or purple clay. This type of teapot is normally used with Black tea, Pu-erh tea, and Oolong tea; white tea and green tea are not used with this type of teapot. (we recommend glass teapots or ceramic teapots for green and white tea.) Purple clay's has a unique property that make it ideal for brewing tea. Most seasoned tea drinkers have one specific YiXing teapot for each individual type of tea, because YiXing teapots obsorb the aroma, taste and color of the tea. After repeated use, it actually adds to the flavor of the teas being brewed.
