Chinese Black Tea

Chinese black tea is known for its powerful antioxidants, which help fight cancer-forming free radicals in the body. This type of brew is known to the Chinese as "Congous" (from the term Kung Fu.) Regional varieties are known for their reddish leaves and the burnt finish to the liquid after steeping. The leaves come from the Camellia Sinensis plant, with many of the most flavorful blends coming from the Assam variety of plant. Many people drink this brew for its detoxifying element and because regular consumption has been shown to reduce the risk of strokes. The caffeine content of this type of brew is much lower than coffee, with most blends containing up to three-percent caffeine.
